Is there anyone else who has had problems with their teeth, as over the previous 6 months I have not only lost at least 6 fillings, had a tooth break off & then tonight a crown also broke. Maybe they have reached there use-by date. Will be fun trying to sit still for the dentist.

ohhh, would you like a dentist story? In April, my trip to the dentist ended up with a tongue laceration. later I decided on the anaesthetic and had them removed, (both up the back). but yes, my teeth have been in need of extra care of late too. I dont think it is PD, I just have bad teeth. They have a head restraint for me now. Obviously they feel a little guilty. lol.

According to google search on PD effects on dentistry PWP have lost the dexterity & strength in their hands to brush teeth properly and should use an electric toothbrush. Being a chocoholic doesn't help....booked in next week so will see what happens. thanks for your reply.

Hi Carol, I am having problems with my teeth due to a very dry mouth. The lack of saliva causes problems as saliva neutralises acids. I have been grinding my teeth when asleep due to nightmares. I am seeing the dentist every 12 weeks now and I still have to have a filling each time. An electric toothbrush is essential because most of us have problems holding the brush properly. I can't even floss my teeth either. Using a range of products for dry mouth is also important. cheers Anne

My GP and my dentist both claim that those with this illness are eligible for the government dental scheme similar to the ancillary scheme.
